How to Request Library Instruction Sessions
We are devoted to offering effective library instruction sessions for your students. Library instruction sessions are most successful when they are provided within the context of specific class assignments. Please send a copy of your assignment(s) when you request a library instruction session. We will be happy to work with you individually to create/modify your assignment. As library instruction sessions are collaborative in nature, we ask that you be present during the session. To request library instruction for your class, please let us know: |
Kindly provide us at least 7 days advance notice to enable the best possible scheduling and planning of your session. We can discuss possibilities of multiple sessions, hands-on sessions in LMC Classroom (2nd floor in the Library), information literacy assignments, or other options that best suit your course content and goals. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact Nicole Longpre (nlongpre@bcc.ctc.edu) or David Oar (doar@bcc.ctc.edu) or phone the Reference Desk at 425-564-6161. Placing items on Reserve Faculty may place library materials or items such as personal books and copies of articles for their students on reserve. Reserve items are located at the Circulation counter, and are available to students to check out for short periods of time. The instructor placing items on reserve determines the length of check-out time. Click the following link to download the Library Media Center's Reserve Guidelines. Note: We need 48 hours to process reserve items! Please be advised that we require a 48-hour processing time and materials are processed in the order of the time received. All reserve materials--be it a book or one page reprint are labeled, barcoded, and entered in the automated library system. This is to ensure the availability of the items and provides security for each checkout. The process also enables students to locate reserve materials for their classes through the library online catalog. Please plan ahead when you bring materials to the library and inform your students accordingly. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. The Library Media Center provides the
