What's New? |
There can be any number of reasons why you may have trouble getting into our periodical databases.
Here are the most common problems we come across and how to fix them: |
|
Firewalls If you have a security firewall installed on your computer, this may block your access to the databases. If you are having trouble accessing the databases and have a firewall installed on your computer, try turning off the firewall temporarily to see if that is what is causing the problem. Don't forget to turn your firewall back on when you are finished using the databases! Name Variations Another common problem is the way a student's name has been entered at the time of registration. Students whose names have punctuations, those who have compound names with a space or hyphen and names with prefix such as al, de, la, dos, van, etc might have problem accessing our databases. If you have a hypenated last name, try typing in your name with a space between the names rather than a hyphen. If you have a prefix in your last name and there is a space in your last name, try typing your name without the space after the prefix. If you continue to be unable to access the databases remotely, please phone the circulation office at 425-564-2252 and we can check how your name is entered into the system. © Bellevue Community College Library Media Center |
